Back In Town

I'm back in New Orleans after going home to Arizona for four days. I think it's funny how things work sometimes. I had to think a lot about volunteer work the past few days, for several reasons. I thought about what it means to this area, the kind of help it's providing, how much longer I can stay, just to name a few. After landing, walking through the New Orleans airport, I stopped at a news stand to check out The Times-Picayune, and what do I see on the cover but a story about Volunteers in New Orleans. Furthermore, the story was based on an event that took place Monday at Camp Hope, which is where I lived when I first arrived (although it's recently moved into a different school down the road). Here's a link to the story. There's not a lot of meat in it, but the message is good. It’s a good story to share so that I can get something new posted before hitting the ground running again on Wednesday when I’ll get some fresh perspective for my own stories.
